ABOUT KRISTA
Krista Lance is an architectural, interiors and luxury real estate photographer based in Santa Barbara, CA. Unlike many other architecture or real estate photographers, she has an educational and professional background in architecture, environmental landscape design, and commercial real estate marketing. This background gives her a discerning eye for the details that matter.
Her love for photography began early—some of her first memories with a camera include capturing moments of her family’s golden retriever on film. She continued studying photography throughout her schooling, starting with black-and-white film photography and developing prints in the darkroom before honing her digital photography and editing skills.
Krista holds a degree in Environmental Design from the University of Colorado Boulder, where she studied architecture, landscape architecture, and city planning. This foundation sharpened her ability to see space, form, and light in a way that translates seamlessly into her photography. She spent several years practicing landscape design in her home state of Colorado before transitioning into commercial real estate, where she refined her project management skills and developed a deeper understanding of marketing and visual storytelling.
Throughout her career, photography remained a creative outlet alongside her corporate roles for over 8 years. Now, she has returned to her roots—merging her technical expertise, artistic eye, and passion for beautiful spaces to do what she truly loves.
